New Werewolf story coming soon…

As soon as I get over this exhaustion. -_- Yes, it’s a sequel of sorts to Baiting the Beast even though it starts immediately after Four’s escape. But since people actually seemed to like Baiting the Beast it makes me very happy to be able to focus on the world and characters hinted at in that book. I enjoyed writing BtB, and I want to tell the stories of the other beasts in captivity. The next story is about Subject Number One and his mate, Dr. Michelle Dimaano, who just so happens to be one of his captors. I don’t know how long this one is going to be, but I’m about 10k words into it and while there has been some heavy groping through the bars of a cell, my heroine freaked out at the thought of being One’s mate. Unfortunately for her she’s probably not going to get much time to get used to the thought before it happens. Good thing Number One is totally devoted to her and Has A Plan… 🙂 I’ve named the series “Project Loup Garou” just to link them all together. They work as stand-alone novellas, though, so that makes me happy. Enjoy the teaser!

And besides, Michelle knew as well as anyone that touch was incredibly important for animals to thrive. It was basic biology. Perhaps Number One just needed a hug.

A sexy hug, the soft, dirty part of her mind whispered. Michelle shoved the thought away.

This is for science, she told herself. This is for the health and well-being of Subject Number One. She stepped forward and put her hands out.

Her fingertips grazed his fur, and a frisson of sweet sensation buzzed from the tips of her fingers straight down to the hot, crowded space between her legs, startling her. Michelle had never given that place much thought. She certainly had never touched it in the way she knew other women did. It just had no appeal to her.

Now, however, it began to heat up, and she swallowed, hard…

Smears of color covered my skin, making me look like I’d rolled in a Jackson Pollack painting. Malcolm sat in one of the leatherbound swiveling chairs, watching me. “You are startling,” he said when I finally stood before him, completely nude except for his own markings.
“Thank you,” I said. “Don’t speak.” Continue reading

Smashwords EXCERPT: I let my gaze slide down so I could study him from the corner of my eye. He wasn’t wearing the same clothes I’d last seen him in; instead of pajamas he now wore a fine cashmere sweater and well-tailored slacks, though his feet were stockinged. A pair of fine shoes languished a few feet from the desk, as though he’d brought them over, meaning to put them on but had forgotten to do so. He’d also shaved, so that was good. It meant he’d probably taken a shower. He still seemed a bit off, though. He had a strange, hunted look on his face, as though he hadn’t slept, dogged by some unrelenting compulsion. Glancing back at the images on the screen and his riveted attention to them, I could believe it.  Continue reading

PSA: The Billionaire’s Muse #2 is coming soon…

…and I’m really happy with it. Lots of sex. And some of that stuff we like to call character exploration and plot and shit, but who cares, I love the sex in this one. It’s been uploaded to various storefronts and should be live most places by tomorrow. And now I’m going to bed. I went to a holiday party for my husband’s company and yelled at a lot of people over the noise, then I came home and took some Nyquil, which tasted awful, and apparently I’m going bra shopping tomorrow with some girlfriends, which I’ve never done before, but promises to be diverting. I’ve been wearing the same nursing bras for two years. My kid doesn’t even nurse any more. Imma look pretty, motherfuckers.

His Canvas Teaser

Up at three with insomnia. Worked some on His Canvas. Have a teaser.

He still seemed a bit off, though. He had a strange, hunted look on his face, as though he hadn’t slept, dogged by some unrelenting compulsion. Glancing back at the images on the screen and his riveted attention to them, I could believe it.

“Some of these are pretty good,” I told him. “I mean, considering your subject matter and all.”

Next to me, he shook his head. “That’s kind of you,” he said. “But it’s not here.”

I blinked. “What’s not here?”

“My masterpiece.”

I felt my mouth twist. “You don’t think so? You asked me over to look at your photos as a professional. I think they’re pretty good. You have talent. And I’m admitting that grudgingly considering you didn’t decide to become an artist until yesterday.”

“Two days ago,” he corrected me, “and that was just an excuse. I asked you over to do this again.”

I could see it all in my mind as he moved the mouse down to the lower bar of his photo editor, clicked on a box, and up popped the picture of him between my legs, eyes half-closed with ecstasy as he laved my clit with his tongue.

Just the sight of it made me aching and empty for his cock, even as my face flushed with humiliation. And yet the picture I’d taken was beautiful, in a purely artistic sense. I’d captured my subject perfectly: the only thing truly in focus was Malcolm’s face. The face of a cat lapping at a bowl of cream.

I still wasn’t entirely prepared when he turned his chair and gripped my hips gently to pull me to him…

Yeaaaaaaayuh. I love this story. Definitely working hard whenever I have the chance… which is not often, since my kid’s still out of school until next Wednesday. BUT I WILL PREVAIL. Somehow.

EXCERPT: “Wo-man,” it said at last, “open. Legs, open.” These words erased, once and for all, the fear for her life she had felt. It wanted to fuck her, not eat her. Rape her, more like. So why did her heart start to hammer at the realization? “I… I can’t,” she said. “I’m tied up.” She risked a glance down her body. The creature was still just a hulking shadow crouched down beside her, but she imagined its eyes on her, watching her. She imagined it could see in the dark. Then it rose up, up and up, so tall she thought she would swoon. It blotted out the starry sky before moving down to her feet and crouching there. Continue reading

Cover show off!

baitingthebeastblogYeah, I am like EVER SO EXCITED that I just finished the cover of Baiting the Beast because it turned out GORGEOUS and I LOVE IT and mmmmmmmmmm. This was such a fun story to write, I’m very anxious about it. I want it to do well because the characters grew on me and the world kind of EXPLODED in my head, and I was like, “hey, I could write a set of twelve interlocking novellas in this universe…” LIKE OMG. I would love to do that. So. I’m very excited by the release of Baiting the Beast. I’m hoping it will be live by the first of the year. Because everyone wants half-shifted werewolf boning as they recover from their New Year’s hangovers. What are you guys doing for New Years? Me, I think I might make some sparkling Jello (half boiling water, half seltzer!), since I don’t drink no more, and maybe going to bed early. There were far too many wild parties in my youth for me to long for the days when I woke up on a friend’s bathroom floor with a headache and someone else’s shirt on. There is something to be said for getting older. And that thing is GET OFF MY LAWN EDIT: And since search-engine results tell me that people are anxious for His Canvas, rest assured that I will be busting my butt on it and I hope to have it out by January 6th. It’s always a crapshoot when things go live, but I’m a-working on it!

Upcoming: Werewolves and Muses

Aaaaah, Christmas is over and that means it’s time to get back to work. Personally, I’ve been unwinding by knitting a pair of socks (edit: just joined Ravelry. BE MY FRIEND) and rewatching the first season of My Little Pony (WARNING MUSIC OMG) because my brain simply cannot handle drama right now. My son’s birthday is only a few days before Christmas. He turned two this year. And my god. The stress. But that’s all over now! I’m looking to wrap up a quick little werewolf/beast erotic romance novelette (novella? depends) titled Bait for the Beast in the next few days, and then it’s on to His Canvas (The Billionaire’s Muse, #2). And it promises to be raunchy and dramatic and really fucking fun. I hope everyone had wonderful holidays this year. Dallas had the second white Christmas I can remember, and I’ve lived here almost all my life. Stay warm, stay safe, and try to relax before we hit the ground running in the new year! A teaser from Bait for the Beast:

At first she couldn’t understand it, couldn’t assimilate it. Her scientist mind would not accept its existence. For a long moment, she was utterly certain she was hallucinating, completely positive that her dreams were coming to life in her mind and dancing across her eyes, completely imaginary and yet masquerading as reality. The drugs in her system, the fear, the cold, all were converging on her brain, making it play tricks on her. Such things didn’t happen. Twisting an arm, Bonnie pinched herself, hoping the pain would jerk her out of it, would wake her up, but all it did was hurt.

The creature still stood there.

It was huge. Covered in fur, a hulking mass of muscle limned in silver light. It stood like a gorilla, massive forearms, crouching hind legs. Like a man, but of monstrous proportion. Plumes of silvery mist puffed from its hidden mouth, blooming and fading. One pointed ear and one former ear, now just a stump, sat atop its head, swiveled toward her. Listening.

I’m going to die, Bonnie thought, very calmly and clearly. I am going to die. Continue reading

His Acquisition — Out Now!

The Cover of His Acquisition Artist Sadie MacElroy has landed a sweet gig as the personal assistant to her best friend, Felicia Waters. Despite her scattershot creative nature, she’s a whiz at organizing, planning, and ordering people around. But her sweet gig turns sour at a charity art auction she’s organized when she bumps into a stage lackey and sends a 17th century Qing Dynasty vase crashing to the ground. Electing to take the fall, Sadie attempts to arrange payment of the vase to its owner, eccentric billionaire and (extremely) amateur artist Malcolm Ward. But Malcolm doesn’t care about the money or the vase; inspired by Sadie, he decides he only wants her, any way he can have her. In front of his camera, under his brush… or in his bed. His Acquisition is a 16,300 word novelette. Part one of five in The Billionaire’s Muse series. It’s out! And a day early (mostly!) A slow burn, but certain to heat up quickly in the next installment. “Oh yes. I knew from the moment I saw you from across the ballroom that I wanted to paint you. Or take your picture. Or perhaps sculpt you…” He took a step closer, and my hands tightened on the bar stool. He was so tall, and I caught a whiff of a very masculine scent underneath his aftershave. The hard muscles of his body filled out his tux, and I found myself praying that he was telling the truth, because if he tried to kill me I’d be no match for a barrel chest and biceps like the ones he was sporting… Continue reading

One week until His Acquisition comes out.

01muse -- ARe His Acquisition: The Billionaire’s Muse, Part 1, coming December 21st! And I don’t know about you guys, but I’m psyched. I’m thoroughly enjoying The Billionaire’s Muse, and I hope you guys do, too. Here’s the blurb, still a bit of a work in progress, but you get the idea: Artist Sadie MacElroy has landed a sweet gig as the personal assistant to her best friend, Felicia Waters. Despite her scattershot creative nature, she’s a whiz at organizing, planning, and ordering people around. But her sweet gig turns sour at a charity art auction she’s organized when she bumps into a stage lackey and sends a 17th century Qing Dynasty vase crashing to the ground. But Malcolm doesn’t care about the money or the vase; he only wants Sadie, any way he can have her. In front of his camera, under his brush… or in his bed. Malcolm rules. I think I managed to create a great foil for Sadie in him. And now… to the keyboard!
